Workplace BSL Interpreters

cSeeker helps employers arrange British Sign Language interpreters for Deaf employees, candidates, clients and visitors. We support workplace communication across the UK, both in person and online.

Workplace situations we support

  • Job interviews and recruitment
  • Team meetings and one-to-ones
  • Training and induction sessions
  • HR and wellbeing meetings
  • Performance reviews
  • Conferences and staff events

Clear preparation makes a big difference. Share the meeting purpose, date, times, location or online platform, expected participants and any specialist terminology so the interpreter can prepare appropriately.

Access to Work

Some Deaf employees may be able to use Access to Work funding for communication support. cSeeker can provide booking information and quotations for workplace interpreting requests. Funding decisions are made by Access to Work, so employers and employees should check their own award and conditions.

Remote and on-site support

We can arrange on-site interpreters for offices, training venues and events, as well as remote interpreting for Teams, Zoom and other online platforms.

Make meetings easier to follow

Ask the Deaf employee or candidate which communication arrangements work for them. Send agendas, presentations and technical terms in advance. During the meeting, speak to the participant directly, take turns and allow interpretation to finish before moving to the next question or activity.

Recurring and confidential meetings

For regular team meetings or training, share the proposed dates and expected duration together. Let us know if the content involves HR, performance or other sensitive matters, and provide preparation material through an agreed channel. Avoid sending unrelated personal information with an initial enquiry.

Choosing the right format

Remote interpreting can suit planned video meetings, while site visits, practical training and meetings with several activities may need different arrangements. Tell us about the work environment and participants so we can discuss suitable options. Ask about Deaf awareness training if your team would also benefit from improving its everyday communication practices.
