Entrepreneurial Spark is the world’s biggest free business accelerator for early stage and growing enterprises. It aims to develop entrepreneurs with a ‘Go Do’ attitude and the qualities to make them an exciting and realistic investment prospect.
In 2015, the national Entrepreneurial Spark scheme was launched in Birmingham, giving dozens of new entrepreneurs a host of benefits from free office space to regular mentoring.
We were delighted and proud to be selected among the first Birmingham intake for this programme, run in partnership with NatWest, RBS and KPMG, and it has made a significant difference to our business from the outset.
cSeeker has benefited from a central work location at the RBS building in St Philip’s Square, Birmingham – and our stay has been extended while we’ve been on the programme as we’ve progressed to its ‘Nest’ stage.
We’ve also had access to mentors offering a wide range of business and financial advice, including Joe Trodden, our Entrepreneurial Spark enabler, and David Tomalin of the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce. Both have been incredibly helpful.
There is also plenty of opportunity to practice pitching ideas, attend workshops and so on.
Equally, those on the scheme have the chance to take part in its ‘acceler8’ event, and we were one of the businesses that won extra funding of £2,000 through this for displaying the ‘Go Do’ entrepreneurial spirit that is at the heart of the scheme.
Being a part of the ‘Hatchery’ has made all the difference to our speed of growth. We can’t thank everyone who has helped us along the way enough.
