We know that campus life, while often being wonderfully rewarding, can also have its challenges, especially for Deaf students.
That’s why we want to do what we can to make sure Deaf students have as much support as possible while they are at college or university.
So we’re now cheering up every Monday afternoon between 1 and 3pm with our new drop-in sessions for Deaf students.
The drop-ins will take place each week at our central Birmingham offices at India House, 88-90 John Bright Street, B1 1BN – we’re on the third floor.
There’s no need to book an appointment – just drop in and see us any week and we’ll do what we can to help.
For example, we advised one student, Safeer, about an IT course in Birmingham & he’ll be using our support via Birmingham City Council.
We also discussed the academic future of another student of ours, Gavin. He is keen to enrol on a cooking course. So we helped him to come up with an action plan which will mean he can do this.
cSeeker could help you, too. Come along next time you’re free on a Monday afternoon. We’ll put the kettle on! Over cup of tea or coffee, you can discuss any bit of university life you wish. That could be your course, Disabled Students Allowance or your Communication Support. It’s up to you!
Or just let us know how university or college life is treating you generally. We look forward to seeing you.
