Having a ball at Deaffest 2017!
We always love the chance to be out and about. So it really was a treat to be back at Deaffest last weekend, the second time we’ve had a stall at this event, Britain’s biggest Deaf film and arts festival.
The festival brings together Deaf film-makers from all over the world to celebrate their success, and, this time around, the theme was Discovery.
The weekend-long programme at the Light House Media Centre in Wolverhampton included a wide range of activities and workshops as well as film screenings and a bit of partying!
We were there for the Saturday, and found that the event was even busier than last year’s festival, and we had a lot of visitors to our stall, where we were giving out promotional purple backpacks and pencil cases.
It was a great chance for us to meet lots of people, many of whom were interested in our services and who left contact details.
Our new Operations Co-ordinator Olivier Jamin, also a talented artist, was showing the largest canvas he has ever worked on, alongside a small group of other Deaf artists, photographers and sculptors at the exhibition that accompanies Deaffest. He gave a talk about this work at the same time.
So thanks, Deaffest, for a great weekend! We’re already looking forward to being back in Wolverhampton for next year’s event!
